I tried to be 'dope'

Here's the dope story:
I failed at being dope.

Dopest picture of the day:

Totally undope.

Anyway, some dope fashion for y'all. Check this out. This is sick.

Just ordered it all the way from the land of merlions because MALAYSIA is not on the shipping world map.

Okay let me explain my dopeyness:
I've been watching too many street stuff. x-games, maestroknows and surfing too many streetwear sites.

I am so going to pick up skateboarding or bmxing or something doper. no breakdancing though, my small butt can't thump to the rhythm.

It's July the 31st. Have a dope August y'all.

Speech Day 2010. Farewell.

Imma start speaking in street leet, because I think it is awfully cool.

So these pictahs are for my homies over at the Dance Club, because they worked their dope butts off.

Actually, everyone worked their dope butts off for this speech day, its just that, they are my homies, you got that.

TEAMWORK. dope.

OUR SPIRIT NEVER DIES. dope.

Dance Club mr. president Wong Chee Weng, also one of my blue house homies aka captain.

Ivan Ong, talented breakdancer and neighbourhood homie. We used to be some gungho threesome gang back in the summer of '09s before Josh ran away. Ahh the good fifa09 times.

Sweet matching Nike sneakers. dope.

One for the Form 1 traditional dance. I thought they did a great job. C'mon they are so thirteen years old and performing. I was smoking pot and high on crack when i was thirteen.
(pot and crack meaning Maplestory, the cute addictive online multiplayer role playing game)

Thanks to Mr Eiran-man for laying on the floor for this dope shot. DOPE.
We high rolling on our last speech day.
(high roller: n. Slang
1. One who spends freely and extravagantly, as for luxuries or entertainment.)

It's time to call it quits.
Speech day 2010, time to say farewell 'forever and always'.
The great times we had, catwalking on my 5 seconds of fame on stage, early morning breakfast at the kopitiam, improvised singing in front of the whole sanctuary, crawling on the floor tring to escape punishment, getting our reputation whooped by mdm chow, maggi mee & sushi overload buffet and pn gong confiscating my SEVENTEEN mag featuring Abel Goon.

Oh, at least the school didn't spend 30 minutes finding for a stolen 10sen magnet. SPEECHDAY09 memories yo.

With love,
ABSOLUTsusu signing off.

Aftereffects.

This straight-from-the-heart experience was written days ago. After breathing in a whole lot of air and much filtering, here goes.

Over these few days of being physically incapable of doing much, I've been putting some thoughts into the whole 'tunas harapan' issue. and just so you know, I'm not doing this so I can get one of those glass pieces, I'm way over that.

Throughout my 5 high school years, I've been putting in my best, exhausting myself time after time, failing, getting back up, rinsing and repeating the whole process. Be it something big like academics, sports or leadership to doing tiny little things like shutting the class up and designing t-shirts & flyers.

People ask me what I feel about not getting the tunas harapan award. I return them with a question, if you were me, what would you feel?

I'll tell you for sure, it really does suck to not feel appreciated.

True, the phrase 'leadership through servant hood' makes it less bitter to deal with, but pouring 5 years of your life away, feeling so vulnerable and then watching your friends get an award to be appreciated for their effort in making the school a better place. Man, that's just gotta hurt a whole lot.

I acted like I couldn't care much but it really did crush me on the inside. I was disappointed with life (not till the extend of slitting my wrists lah, what were you thinking).

Picking up the pieces and moving on, it has come to my realization that me being award-less does not mean I did not contribute to the school. I very well know what I've done throughout my high school years, the good and the bad, and I can say with my head up high, I am proud of it, every single one of em.

Having 4 months left in high school with a new perspective towards the things and people around me, how harsh life can be sometimes, I'll be a gentlewoman and stick to my words. This whole event has really disappointed me to the max but I shall complete everything I started.
"Hit the jackpot (or at least try) at the BK Quiz, finish up the school magazine, score the home run for SPM and have the time of my life with my friends."

After all, I'm doing this for God.

Bye. (there isn't any conclusion)

(to that teacher whom said I'll get an award at the end of the year for my services, c'mon, you really think I give a ___ for it? It just sounded like someone feels guilty.)

To the best student of Sri Sempurna,

Roy, congratulations.

Just before announcing the last spot for the Tunas Harapan award, you said "Sue, I think it's yours."

That's what it takes to be the best student - a big fat pile of humility.

It's a pleasure being your friend.

Test shots:

Self camho at arm's length. NOT BAD.

I have been eyeing this lens for way too long!
Not until two weeks ago, I decided to take the plunge and placed an order for this lens.
Why take the plunge?
BECAUSE my momsies came up with her new 'rule' : ALL FUTURE PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENTS ARE TO BE FUNDED BY MYSELF aka no more mommy daddy money for lenses =(

Photography jobs, blog advertisments, wierd errands for parents, starbucks fasting and a couple of months later.........
1,900,000 sen malaysia collected.

It was real hard using my own money for my own wants. It's like gahh I WORKED SO DARN HARD FOR IT AND IM SPENDING IT ALL IN ONE DAY.

A toast to a beautiful picture producer, non injury prone, ultra-sharp and ultra-fast lens, CHEERS. may we live happy ever after.

1,900. sigh.

(good news is, my dad might just override my mom's rule. ngekngekngek!

Speech day rehearsal day 1

Good morning, world. Welcome to ABSOLUTsusu's 600th attempt (aka post) to infiltrate the internet.

I like speech day week. Free periods, breakfast at the coffee shop, less brain-input, going home early but what i like the most about it is, everybody is in RELAX mode.

That's my forced husband, my big baby and an adopted kid from nowhere. Spontaneous family portrait.

Yeah, so Form 5s are not allowed to perform on Speech Day because we're in charge of praise and worship. I am HOR SUE XIAN, I can't sing, I can't dance and I can't act. But I sure as heck can make some noise =)

Job of the day: Cheer. I even came up with a failed tagline "5 Arts CHEERS FOR YOU"
I feel like bringing pom-poms on Saturday. I dont know, I just might come in a cheerleading outfit.

Boys Brigade dance

Break time was awesome. It was like a mini buffet outside the toilet.
Sushis, Maggi mee cups, some wierd vege thingy, potato chips and my very own dear Subway BMT "Biggest, Meatiest, Tastiest".

This year's performances are more boom-boom-pow. Despite the lack of variety such as last year's choral speaking and mime, this year's are of higher quality, especially the dances. The school is more tolerant as compared to previous years, breakdance stunts and ripped clothings are allowed. Acting was a little disappointing though.

In a way, it's nice to see unexpected people rise up =)

Enough Simon Cowell moments over here.

Today, I had my 10 seconds of fame.
I tried my BEST to catwalk while receiving my prize on stage.
It was a dare anyway but why not go on stage with a little flair?

Consequence: MDM CHOW blasing on the microphone "5 ARTS! I'll take your prize back if you do this on Saturday. I am serious."

I'm thinking robot dance / walk thingmajig on Thursday's rehearsal. What say you?

The day ended with lunch at Sweet Bean =)
